7.22.17 Room Inspection Fail
We asked Dayton a few questions to get a little more information about his first couple days. I was teasing him about his “napping” since that was a favorite thing to do at home the last couple of months. The failed room inspection photo is not a surprise (see attachment). He would have had a pile of those at home. He did mention in a separate email that his companion was the only “commendable” for making his bed. Boys will be boys. J

Hey it’s so good to hear from yall!
My companion is from Utah, he is also serving in Alaska with me and yes there are 5 elders and 2 sisters in are district who are also going to Alaska.
The MTC food is pretty good and is always different so far so thats been pretty nice. i exsersieed for the first time last night playing soccer which was so much fun but i told myself i need to stop eating donuts and ice cream because i was worn out by the end of the hour.
i saw Preston yesterday finally, it was good to talk to him, we are gonna play some soccer together today. ill look for Darin when he shows up this Wednesday for sure :).
my favorite part about the MTC so far is learning all day. i thought it would be miserable in classes for hours a day but I’m actually learning so much and the spirit is so strong here. so many elders and sisters all united in the purpose and all want to serve the lord is a great place to be for three weeks. i fly out to Alaska August 8th.
for exercise we just started and so i played soccer. some people are good and some aren’t. it’s still a lot of fun though, I had a lot of energy i wanted to run around a lot last night i felt free from the MTC for an hour, it was funny.
I have taken 0 naps so far, Crazy right! I haven’t been getting tired at the MTC and so I have never needed a nap. i am pretty sure we aren’t supposed to nap anyway so that’s good it’s not a problem for me.
and yes that picture is in the new building ; T4. we were at the top on the sixth floor. my classroom is in that building . it’s really nice compared to the other old classes because there is so much more space. The new buildings we use them for class and study time . it’s a good place because it’s quiet and there are lots of places to study with my companion.
i might give tours later on if they ask me but I’m still reasonably new at the MTC. i write my emails on my tablet and so does everyone else. if your mission lets you bring a device then you use your own. if your mission doesn’t allow one then the let you use and ipad for your time at the mtc and then you give it back. There is wifi everywhere i go and many of us have tablets.
i expected all the rules so nothing new. in the missionary hand book it did have some new rules that I didn’t know though. like only being able to play half court BB or not being able to keep score. but the real mission rules aren’t that hard to follow. I enjoy walking around and being with my companion all day.
I hope to hear from you soon. I had a fun time camping and fishing with family last week and it was good to see Dallin.
